Mentor Training

Mentor training for the July 21-23, 2017 event is now open.

The following dates have been reserved for mentor training for 2017 in the Diocese of Texas.  All events will be at Camp Allen, near Navasota, Texas.

July 21 - 23, 2017

2 Foundations of Seminar Life groups (16 spaces)

1 Formation Training for Mentoring and Ministry group (12 spaces) - Topic: Bring Many Gifts

Foundations of Seminar Life is for new mentors and mentors who are not yet accredited as Formation Eligible.

For more information on the Formation topics, please see the Formation tab. The Formation level is reserved for experienced mentors who have been designated as Formation Eligible by their most recent trainer and who have an active seminar group.

If you are unsure about whether you are Formation Eligible, please contact the coordinator, Lucy Wagner, at lmwagner1219@gmail.com.

All trainings start with check-in starts at 2 p.m.  The training sessions start promptly at 3 p.m.  You are expected to be on time and be ready to stay the entire 18 hours of training in order to become an accredited mentor.

Training events are held twice a year in the Diocese of Texas. We customarily offer 2 sections of Foundations of Seminar Life (formerly called Basic Mentor Training) and 1 section of Formation Training for Mentoring and Ministry (formerly called Formation Training).

Due to recent changes in Mentor Formation training requirements, the Formation events may be changed to Basic/Inservice events if demand so dictates.

Registration will be opened 60 to 90 days prior to the date of the training event. If you want to be on the email mailing list, contact Lucy Wagner

Training events are also held at Sewanee every month. You may attend training events in another diocese. For more information about mentor training events outside the Diocese of Texas click Other Training Events
